Remembering an Anand Jalakam story from last year where he shared this blog title confusion about the Karnataka 24x7 project!

But he was also sharing that house rents had DOUBLED in the 24x7 pilot areas as a result of the sustained delivery of continuous potable water - but that it took two to three years for higher-income householders in those improved areas to trust the improved supply and to begin to lose their ground tanks. Also reminding us that leakage in the pilot areas was very high to begin with but was brought down over time - Bhubaneswar experiencing something similar.
