Having illustrated earlier the challenge Guma Water faces in Freetown with leakage from the 'spaghetti' connections, it seems only fair to share the leakage Thames Water also has to address (still at 24% last time I asked), this from next to a brand new mega-building for a mega-bank I randomly came across a recent visit to London.

Thames Water investing approximately £1m per day (personal communication) every day, on leak detection and leak management - not sure to what extent this includes any mains replacement, probably not as I would guess that would put the cost much higher.
